Biography:
Emre Akbas received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science in 2004 and 2006, respectively, from the Department of Computer Engineering, Middle East Technical University. He conducted his MS thesis research under the supervision of Dr. Fatos Yarman Vural. He is currently a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, under the supervision of Dr. Narendra Ahuja.
Research Description:
Emre’s research interests are in automatic image segmentation, perceptual grouping and machine learning in computer vision.
